Professor Mendes holds a PhD in Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy by University of Zaragoza, Spain.
He has several articles published in specialized magazines, journal and in international conferences in the field of Renewable Energies, Energy Efficiency, Smart Grid, and Smart Cities.
He is also researcher member at the Responsible AI Network - Africa (RAIN-Africa).
Professor Mendes also has extensive experience as a consultant in the energy and smart technologies sector. he has collaborated, as a consultant, in several structuring projects for the electric sector of Cape Verde, as is the case of "Cape Verde Smart Grid Roadmap", "Consultancy to Develop Mitigation Instruments for Strategic Sectors - Energy and Waste" and "Reforming and operationalizing the framework for distributed generation of RE ".
